[CPProt.net] ICOM-CC appalled by looting in Iraq.

Although I am no longer involved in Cultural Property Protection,  I like to 
keep abreast of what's happening.  After the Gulf War, I believe ICOM in 
partnership with private funding, published brochures based on what was 
looted.  I would think that this would be a reasonable use of both private 
and public funding.  These brochures, or better yet, an Internet database 
maintained by ICOM, with access to museums, the trade, police, etc., would 
alert potential legitimate buyers.
