Hi Everyone,
     I am a lowly librarian compared to most of the members apparently on the list who must work for major museums; anyway...
     If I knew a war was coming I would immediately protect my collection, especially those parts of the collection that were irreplaceable.  In my case, I would hide away all local history and perhaps reference items. 
     How much responsibility does the curator, librarian etc have in such a matter?  Are disaster procedures in place?  Is there a list of 'most valuable' items that must be saved before all others?  Is there a repository or secret storage area for these items?  Is there a ready list of volunteers to call to hide items?  Are accession lists kept off property?  There are probably more questions that should be considered.
     All I know is yes, it is a terrible shame that some items were looted.  But...better items lost than people lost and...why weren't very valuable items hidden away?  thanks for listening, diana
