An Idaho Man Opens His Own Business with Stolen Art
By Darlene Deacon

Rexburg, Idaho -
A trial was set today for the man accused of stealing thousands of dollars
in artwork. Rexburg Police Detective, Shane Turman, explains.

"Numerous, limited, art prints by Greg Olsen and some other artists came up
missing from the Bee Hive."

Police confiscated prints saying they're worth between 20 and 40-thousand
dollars.

"And in the course of our investigation led us to a former employee by the
name of Danny Blondell."

But, Bob Franz, the owner of Bee Hive Incorporated, says Blondell took more
than that.

"He worked for us for three and a half years and we are missing somewhere in
the neighborhood of about 50 to 50-thousand dollars worth of art."

Police say after Blondell left the Bee Hive, he opened a gallery of his
own.. right across the street.

"Over the course of time period that he had worked there, he had been
removing limited edition prints and then went over and started his own
framing shop and art store in Rexburg."

I stopped in to see if Blondell wanted to comment on his dilemma.

Blondell: "Business is very good." Reporter:

"BUSINESS IS GOOD, BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE ANY COMMENT?"

Blondell: "Please leave."

Reporter: OKAY.

Blondell: "If I could you with something, I'd like to, but thanks."

The owner of Beehive incorporated says he discovered his stolen artwork when
he went to visit his former employee's new business and simply saw a piece
hanging on the wall.. for sale.
