On February 17 and 18. US Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet to
consider the People's Republic of China's request to restrict importation of
Chinese antiquities in a bilateral agreement with the US. In support of
this, SAFE (Saving Antiquities For Everyone) asks all those concerned about
the devastation of China's cultural heritage by the illicit antiquities
trade is join in a online petition:

SAFE will present these petitions on February 17, at a public session. They
need to be submitted to the Committee by February 4, so send it in NOW and
tell everyone you know about it.

SAFE (Saving Antiquities For Everyone) is a coalition of professionals from
the communications, media and advertising industries working together with
experts in the academic and museum communities.

Our mission is to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving
cultural heritage worldwide and address the destructive effects of the
illicit antiquities trade.

SAFE was founded in response to the ransacking of the National Museum of
Iraq in Baghdad. But our effort is global. SAFE has no political or
commercial affiliations. We are a nonprofit volunteer organization.
