Dutch Painting Stolen

ST. PETERSBURG (SPT) - A portrait of the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick V by
Dutch artist Gerard van Honthorst was stolen from a museum workshop at the
Art Industrial Mukhina Academy in St. Petersburg, RIA-Novosti reported on
Tuesday.

"This is a studying department so there were no people from outside. The
theft took place on Tuesday at about 2 or 3 p.m.," Interfax cited an
anonymous museum employee as saying.

The details of the theft are not being made public in the interest of the
investigation, the employee said.
